4WD Beach Tours
See the famous Point! No 4-wheel drive? Not a problem. Let us make the arrangements for you with Ray Stallings of OBX Rentals and Shuttle Services. You can take an unlimited number of people as he can make several trips. Witness the famous confluence of the Labrador Current and the Gulf Stream. Watch the anglers go for the big one, enjoy the shelling and find the whelk you’ve always wanted, or hike for miles along the area known as “The Hook”. Pick up and drop off at Ramp 44 (located past the lighthouse near the Cape Point Campground). You decide how much time you want to spend. You can bring your own beach gear or you can rent items from Ray on location. He can provide pop-up tents, chairs, coolers with ice, and corn-hole boards. You pay at the time of the tour – no credit cards accepted. However you will be charged on your room account for no shows. Price for one person is $30, 2-3 people $25 per person, and 4 or more $20. Rental items extra.
If you want to experience more of our great beaches ask for the Grand Tour. Up to four hours for 4-5 people and travel not only the Point, but also the Inside Road, the Frisco and Hatteras beaches off ramps 48, 49 and 55, and the sound-side. You’ll also learn a bit more about our local history and have some great photo-ops. The cost for the tour is $150.
Interested in Ocracoke? The Ocracoke Island Beach Tour will take you to all of the beaches of Ocracoke that are open to 4wd access. This tour is up to three hours and is a great way to see some out of the way beaches and cover a lot of ground shelling without the long walks. It includes at least one sound-side access point. The rate for this exploration is $100 per trip, with a maximum of 5 people in a group. There is also a ferry shuttle option. Walk on to the vehicle ferry for free and he will pick you up on Ocracoke Island and take you to the village. This shuttle gives you more departure options than the passenger ferry, allowing you to come and go as you please on your schedule. Reservations required. This shuttle is only $35 per trip each way.
