Buxton Beach Nourishment Update – July 21, 2017

Weeks Marine has announced the change of pumping directions over the course of the next week.  An anticipated weather delay may cease pumping operations this weekend for the Buxton project.  The dredge C.R. McCaskill plans to remain on site during this weather delay.  When pumping is forced to shut down due to rough sea conditions, the beach crews will detach the current pipeline and transit the pipes to the south of the subline.  The newly nourished beach is expected to open to public after Weeks Marine moves the active construction zone to the south.  When pumping operations resume sometime next week, construction will proceed south from the subline towards the village of Buxton.
